Misplaced Love

 Day-9 NaPoWriMo-2023

Prompt: Sonnet ...14 lines, iambic pentameter, 10 syllables per line rhyme scheme abab cdcd, efef, gg/

If love had the power to win the world,

Imagine a beautiful place to be.

A utopian passion to unfold,

In the quagmire that every day we see.

Everybody wants happy memories,

To be cherished, and desires to fulfill.

One wonders, where are these cupid fairies,

Twirling magic wands, making the heart swirl!

Love is a cross, a crown weaved of thorns,

Skin tone, race, and religion play the show.

Heartache  is constant as the heartbeat mourns,

No place for true love to feel, bloom and grow.

Soft poisoned arrows to sort and select,

Chaotic life ends in a wristy pact.

Zoned out!

 Day-8 NaPoWriMo-2023

                                                                      sketch by sunita

Sharp tongues are sweet!

Did I really mean that?

Searching for words

In the haystack

And acting as if nothing happened

You pulled down the roof woman!

Sounds of soft melodies

Soften the heart

But the tongue always

Sways towards the bitter.

We see what we want to see

We hear what we want to hear.

It is a double-edged sword.

How can we judge precisely!

What emotions swirl

On a tongue

Which is too sweet

But utters bitter truths!

Life is a tough game

You either speak out

Or, die a constipated death!

A Bow-wow Life

 Day-7 NaPoWriMo-2023

Prompt: List things

pic: sunita. Ginu and Laddu in their to-do list dream

Wake up to a new dawn

Make a list of tasks in the pipeline

Firstly, a round of morning walk

Then to smell the earth to ease the bowels

Next, waiting for the neighbor's sniffing friend

To join the long marching road.

A bow-wow time in a discussion mode

So many things to do in a day

Keep a  watch on the gate

Bark at the strangers

Keep the cranky aunt's cats away

From messing up the courtyards

To shoo away the butterflies and birds

The ears are to be kept clean

The alert mode should work to perfection

The paws need grooming and polishing too

No time to deal with nits and ticks.

Not to forget the main task

Waiting for the bowls of treats.

Despite the busy day

One list is done with love,

Waiting for the loving cuddles.

The cozy evenings in the arms

Of the loved ones.

Peals of happy laughter

Blissfully snores through the night

In a world of dreams

Till the next day breaks.

Spring

 Day-6 NaPoWriMo-2023

                                                                           pic:sunita

Bloomed in the fragrant spring

Bouquet of heavenly fragrance

Every being magically mused

Tonight smells of heavenly bliss

Love is so enticing

Even angels touched and smiled

Such beautiful blissful love

Stirring deep desires

The heart bloomed with joy

Bloomed in the fragrant spring.

Beni Bu Güzel Havalar Mahvetti by Orhan Veli Kanık

Beni bu güzel havalar mahvetti,
Böyle havada istifa ettim
Evkaftaki memuriyetimden.
Tütüne böyle havada alıştım
Böyle havada aşık oldum;
Eve ekmekle tuz götürmeyi
Böyle havalarda unuttum;
Şiir yazma hastalığım
Hep böyle havalarda nüksetti;
Beni bu güzel havalar mahvetti.

Descendents

 Day -5 NaPoWriMo-2023

It flows
In the veins
Carrying too many
Dark secrets.
In the shriveled passages
Some tiny capsules
Smeared with
Innate residue
Meanders unhindered, with
Archaic promises.

Memories

 Day-4 NaPoWriMo-2023

Prompt: To write a Triolet. An eight-line poem with a rhyme scheme ABaAabAB.

                                                                             pic: sunita

Listen to a sad melody,

Lingering in the memories.

Silence echoed another day

Listen to a sad melody.

Dreams died a slow death helplessly.

Screaming in the cold-hearted breeze.

Listen to a sad melody,

Lingering in the memories!

How great my grief!

 Day-3  NaPoWriMo-2023

Prompt: write a short poem, and rewrite each line and words which are opposite to the original meaning. I have taken (How great my grief- by Thomas Hardy)

How less my grief is, and, my joys so many,

For ages, my fate was not known to me!

How the fast-moving years took to view

How less my grief is, and, my joys so many!

The present is filled with new memories

Hatred and unkindness  helped me to know

How less my grief is, and, my joys so many.

For ages, my fate was not known to me!

A silent night soaked in tears.

Food on a floating mirror

A quarrel in the skies

What the tongue desires

A serenading serpentine lover.

Her fate

Dangled between untold lies.

A prediction went wrong

The walls engulfed her existence

Oscillating between desires.

Was she destined

To live this lie?

Gateways

 The Sunday Muse #251

The shaded profile

Speaks a language.

Splashes  of brown,

Dark browns-

In the wrinkly folds.

Holding many secrets

Like a crater on a roll

Shadows merge

In the shades of kohl

In its depth

Lies the biographies

Wrapped in layers

And layers of memories

Subdued and forgotten

In the wheel of whorl!
