The Sunday Muse #185
Grudges,
Those invisible boundaries
Relations bonded by blood
Flow in unseen maps
Sometimes pulling
In different directions: period.
How to mend the broken bonds?
The bitterness sustain
They say blood is thicker than water!
No road to those forced fences
The heart bleeds and aches
Longing to feel the good old times.
Relationships are glassed
Masked and glued
In grains of sand
Too porous, too fragile
Ephemeral indeed!

Indeed.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this poem - the opener sets the tone perfectly
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful Sunita!!
ReplyDeleteHow well the image represens broken relationships and their fragility! You captured it equally well in your poem.
ReplyDeleteThat closing stanza sums it up so well. Relationships are tricky things.
ReplyDeleteWonderful write ... especially that epic third stanza!!! Families are usually a work in progress.
ReplyDeleteNice one. Luv the end verse. So intangible. So
ReplyDeleteFutile.
Happy Sunday
Much💛love
Love this; the contrast between what we expect/hope for and what we experience limns the fragility of those bonds.
ReplyDeleteI have 3 daughters, so this hits home—love that clever hanging “period.” Apt.
ReplyDelete"In different directions: period."
ReplyDeletevery well said, i've tried to climb those stone walls and cold shoulders may times.
