The Sunday Muse #208
Can you hear?
The whisper of the erratic seasons,
Heralding in an unknown disaster.
Look! Can you see?
The charred forests, eroded cliffs, melting icecaps,
Accentuating the plight of transition.
Can you see the difference?
Glaring head-on, in yesterday, today;
And the unseen tomorrow.
Wake up! Don't gather; autumn's fallen leaves!
The seasons have left too many telltale signs
The future of next-generation lies in our hands
Let us do our bit to make the earth breathe again.

A powerful message beautifully spoken Sunita! May we really open our eyes and take action now!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's high time we take some initiative, atleast guide our children how to protect the environment.
DeleteHi Sunita. Happy Sunday
ReplyDeleteI see we both put questions to this photo prompt. Nice one.
Much💛love
We did! You have a great day, Gillena :)
DeleteI love poetry that teaches, inspires .. motivates. Your poem today does all three. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you feel that way, Helen. Thank you :)
DeleteThis poem definitely speaks to me. I hope humans learn quickly to begin to work with Mother Earth so she can heal.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all can do our bit to make it happen. Your poem had me in tears. :)
DeleteHeed the call!! Yes, those two senses are disabled when we're not awake.
ReplyDelete..
Some of our brethren are warring with each other. Nothing makes sense anymore.
DeleteAll our senses tell us the earth is in trouble - I sometimes feel we are like bystanders watching an old lady being mugged. Your beautiful poem says it all Sunita.
ReplyDeleteWow, Sunita - this is such a powerful call! Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
David [ben Alexander]
