Day-26 NaPoWriMo-2023
Prompt:

Looking at the palms
Counting the zigzagged crisscrossed lines
Wondering at fate, whatever it means,
To know, what to expect and not to feel anxious.
Each day moves at a slow pace
A hazy morning, the sweetened chirping of the birds,
The flowers which were in buds last evening
Blooming fragrantly in the morning. Touching them lovingly
Feeling joy passing through the veins.
Two diehard fans peep at the door
Wagging, to open the gates to smell the flowers
Rather chase the crows and birds.
The voiceless are true companions.
Many plants around to keep the spirit alive
Reminding every day, nothing is lost. The sun will rise
The moon will glow. There will be many storms too.
Sometimes, there is a void, unpaintable emptiness
Maybe it is the age or endured nothingness
Looking in the mirror, a total stranger
A person whose confidence
Has taken a fall, the body is not functioning
The colorful pills on the tabletop
Tell another story of a broken soul.
Touching the bookcase, in search of solace
It shows, another facet of existence
A life that existed in pursuit of knowledge
So many muses on the shelf consoling,
They have lived her life. Burned many bridges
And never gave up- however hard life had been
Their footprints are beacons. Nothing is permanent,
A lesson learned to face the forthcoming storms.
With renewed energy, letting the heart unburden the straying thoughts
She reads, writes, and paints, making peace with the fading lines.
