Day-30 NaPoWriMo-2023
Prompt: Write a Palinode.
Somebody pointed out,
"I never knew you could bake"
How true the statement was!
Never liked the stuffy kitchen
Always a wanderer, a born free spirit loved
The outdoors, where the heart laughed and smiled
The feet felt trapped within the four walls
The joy was exploring the rivers, bird's nest
And getting carried away by the woody scent of nature
Tides change, as they say, " Time and tide wait for none"
Got caught in the grip of destiny
Tightened claws of monotony
Decades of forced mundane choices
Ended into something which was not expected
Experiences do count as time changes phases
The voices around changed their tune
"You really bake well"

ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Selma :)
DeleteYou've managed to put a spoon full of sugar on the bitter truth of a 'mundane' life with such dexterity Sunita. Nicely done.
