Dancing in brokenness

Day 11-OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt- Move Your Body Move your Words )

Image from Google.

And,

 the words flow

in a rhythm of its own

when the broken heart swings

with your memories.

Sighing softly

I merge with you

in the dreamy world

to a perfectly synchronized

pagan dance.

And,

we move

in an aching rhapsody

to a passionately roaring

crescendo.

Determination

Day 10 OctPoWriMo-2017  (Prompt-Power and Control )

Image from google.

Power, a weapon
It kills
It dominates
It empowers
It controls
It ignites freedom.

Power, a word
Unites people
Erase borders
Build bridges
Pen paens
Touch hearts.

Power, a beacon
Empowers genders
Equalize ambitions
Fulfill dreams
Enhance kindness
Harmonize nations.

Fumed Silence

Day 9 OctPoWriMo-2017  (Prompt-Tapping into your Creative Mind)

Heart bleeds unknowingly.

Thirsty ashes carry smoking emotions.

Emotions  smoking carry ashes thirsty

Unknowingly, bleeds heart.

Some roads lead to happiness

Day-8 OctPoWriMo-2017 ( Prompt-What do you know and How do you know it )

How could I know

I would be musing along

On a path less taken

Weaving words

With life experiences.

Making dreams come true

Creating new avenues

Passing through crisis

Standing tall among wolves

Fighting battles

Dealing with unknown woes

A journey full of rough ends

It was destined to be so.

At least by default

Life has been kind

With all its harshness

It did bring a balance

To sooth the soul

With little gifts

In the form of

Love, peace, and hope.

Lost Count (A Haiku)

Day-7 OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt- And Then I Went Too Far )

The prompt "And then I went too far " left me tongue-tied. Didn't know what to write. There are so many things we do in the heat of the moment that it is difficult to keep a count of the people one has hurt. I could manage a haiku to express myself.

The image is taken from google.

Tasted blue lined tongue:
The pools reflected seasons
heart burnt with regret.

Displacement

Day-6 OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt- While I Was Pacing The Floor )

Trying hard
                    to keep up the pace

Between
             the  crowded space

Wondering
                  how to escape

From the clutches
                             of the rat race.

Breathing in the arms of nature

Moments freeze and conjure

Those little moments

Juxtaposed in transitions.

In the hope
                  of  finding freedom

In the world
                   of unplaced wisdom

Through the layers
                                of  fear and beauty

Life seeks
               some peace in humanity.

(I have used an uneven structure for the first and last stanza to highlight the unbalanced environment we live in. The middle stanza accentuates the fact that nature keeps us grounded.)

A Ray of Hope

Day 5 OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt-Finally I Understand )

Finally,

I understand

why it is difficult
to erase the past.

***

Time,

brings forth

falling and aching,
remnants of a scarred life.

***

Between,

the spaces

of life and death,
there is the grounded hope.

***

Believing,

in timeframe

finds dreams weigh
in the fist of today.

***

Triumph,

   not  always

when the truth lies,
in the lines of the palms.

A whorl of colours

Day-4 OctPoWriMo 2017 (Prompt-Between The Clouds And The Water )

Between the clouds and the water
Lies the world of a dreamer.
Where dreams walk on the waves
Where poetry hides in its shades.

In the light of a day
In the midst of a night
Moves the muse of her thoughts
Serenading a sunrise and a sunset.

Sometimes poetry hides
On the wings of hope and laughter.
Sometimes poetry sings
In the waning of seasons.

There are many shades
Colourfully adorned
Suffixed and prefixed
In the dreamer's world

Where poetry hides in its shades
Where dreams walk on the waves
Lies the world of a dreamer
Between the clouds and the water.

Cherita

Day 3 OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt-Taste of Metal)

The taste of metal still bemoans on the carved milky valves.

A tightening string created a hollow ring
Once shaped as a full moon reduced to a shapeless being.

The scars shadowed
What was once adored
A lifeless mass of food.

Rusted Thoughts

Day-2 OctPoWriMo-2017- (Prompt-We Write Because We Must )

Why do I write?

Moreover,

Why poetry?

And  the answer

Lies in the restless void.

Shifting from conscious

To an unconscious state,

The mind play games

When the dark hours

Envelope the memories

Laying dormant for eons.

Bursting to expose

In the form of thoughts

They find solace

On the parchment of words.

A catharsis,

To find peace

To cure the heart of wild deeds

A restless journey ends

When the soul gets inked.

BLOODLINE

Day-1 OctPoWriMo-2017 (Prompt-How Did I get Here)

It flows
As one breathe
Through generations
Building foundations
In the dynamic cells.
Slowly crawl,
Invisible bonds
From the ancestral chasm
Carrying the original seed
With different shades.
How can one define
The roots and branches?
Spread across ligaments
Tempering once in a while
In the psyche of a man?
We carry so many wounds
Within ourselves
Inherited from the forbearers
A schizophrenic bloodline.
