The TIdes Will Change

 Day-19 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt : Being in the present

Form: Synchronicity

                                                                           PC: Sunita

Remnants of the past life teach us

Many life skills and we learn to

Survive.

Life is too complex and moody

We can never be right or wrong

Confused.

A kind word and positive friends

Helps to heal the soul, feel and mend

The heart.

We continue to make mistakes,

Learning and unlearning to bear

The pain.

We listen to our heart sometimes,

And sometimes we cry and laugh too

Bravely.

We know , nothing lasts and nothing

Is perfect and rosy and still

Believe.

......

In the make believe world we live

We play many roles randomly

Unmasked.

There is something else which hinders

Acceptance or fooling ourselves.

Our pride!

My World

 Day-18 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt: The process of relaxing

Form : Free Verse

                                                                             artbysunita

My

World

Is filled

With age old nostalgia

The walls resonate

With fragrant and happy songs

Dancing in the rain

Feeling the warm breeze

In the veins

A bohemian dreamer

Lived in that world.

A tiny world it was

Just a past memory.

I cannot touch that world anymore

But I capture it

In frames

Colour them

And make them live

Within my heart

In my world

Flowers along with their colorful lovers

Fearlessly serenade and breathe in the open sky

The sepia shaded sunsets

The blue sky

The swaying palms

Ignite my dormant desires,

A tempest brews in my heart, and

Carry me to far away lands

I take a deep breathe

Reminiscing a time

Left far behind

My nomadic soul

Yearns to feel

The voiceless muse

And I paint those

Dreams I lived

In that tiny world

To heal and

Find peace.

I

can feel

the wild wind

the seasonal chimes.

Autumn runs in the bones

and spring flutters in the breast.

The starlit sky raining galaxies

waiting eagerly to grow my clipped wings

Truth

Day-14 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt : Truth

Form : Acrostic

There is no way to put the demons to sleep

Remnants of old wounds keep crossing path

Unannounced they visit

To erode the soul piece by piece

How I wish I could control the ghosts and erase the past!

Drifting

 Day-15 OctPoWriMo2020

Prompt: Change of Perspective

Form : Free Verse

                                                                             artbysunita

Drifting I am
In my shadow
A broken spirit
I carry
In a broken body
My skin has stopped
The taste of life
The eyes are still
The fire is dead
What have I become?
This is not me
Struggling everyday
To find myself
In the moving frames
I end up again
And again
Hugging the
Dark walls
Of my cage...

Ancient Walls

Day-13 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt: Outside the Box

Form : Pantoum

                                                                           Pc: Sneha

I would thrash the patriarchy

If I were given a choice

Cloistered in a tower of hierarchy.

I would raise my voice.

If I were given a choice

Segmented  in a gender bias

I would raise my voice.

To break the chains of archaic rhymes.

Segmented  in a gender bias

Trying hard to stand tall

To break the chains of  archaic rhymes

Searching for freedom before the fall.

Trying hard to stand tall

Fighting for a piece of sky

Searching for freedom before the fall.

Leaving  behind the veiled lie.

Fighting for a piece of sky

Cloistered in a tower of hierarchy.

Leaving  behind a veiled lie

I would thrash the patriarchy

Those were the Days

 Day-12 OctPoWriMo 2020

Prompt : Play

Form : Free Verse

                                                                              Pic: Ely

Four marbles in tiny hands

Pawned the cashew nuts for a bait

Life was a playground in childhood

Innocent were the ways of fate.

The multicolored kites smiled

 Vacationing in the azurine skies

The little hearts rejoiced

As the birds took wings

The best times were spent

Riding on the waves

Gathering the colorful shells

Life was filled with magical moments

Seasons were lifelines

Full of vibrant and fragrant air

There were no rules and regulations

Wild feet danced without any care.

My Healers

 Day-11 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt: Muse

Form : Free Verse

                                                                              mytuberoses

A pandemic

Crossed path unannounced

And life went haywire

Not ready to accept the change

The mind played games

And finally surrendered

To the new normal phase.

Went through bouts

Of loneliness and self loathe

Struggled to find some semblance

In the unwanted chaos

Moving through the darkness

Tried to find some hope

In people and sundry things

Alas! Nothing worked!

And then the miracle happened

The muse came knocking

One  fine morning

With loads of blessings

A few bulbs of life in a box

Sheltered in the dark

Waiting eagerly to see the light

I took them tenderly in my hands

And placed in their home

Where they bloom

As if they are born free

Glowing in their freedom

I live and find peace

In the little moments

Watching them standing tall

Giving me hope to stay strong

I know I will heal

Once they start flowering

And their fragrance spreads

In every corner of the house.

My mornings are blessed

In the company of my verdant muse.

Letting Go

 Day-10 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt : Letting Go

Prompt: Free verse

                                                                              PC. Sneha

Rejection,

That one  word

Still hurts and haunts

Many seasons have passed

But, the ache never stops

Those dark days surface

Once in a while

Bringing the demons

Crawling out of the womb

So dark

That they penetrate

Every pore

Of the skin.

Maybe those scars

Will heal

When the body is at peace

In the softly mowed earth.

Illusions

 Day-9 OctPoWriMo-2020

Prompt: Head from Heart

Form : Loop

                                                                               Image: Friend

How can we balance

Balance the head and the heart

Heart is a restless nomad

Nomad in search of happiness.

Mind oscillates

Oscillates between feelings

Feelings of present and past

Past trapped in dark shadows.

Moving on parallel  lines

Lines carved by destiny

Destiny drives the wheels

Wheels of the head and the heart.
