Timeless Images

Day-14 OctPoWriMo-2015

I stood on the bridge
Thinking of a time
A time seeped in memories.

And then…
An image emerged from the shadows
An image from the past life
Questioning,  prodding
About all those dreams
Which were a dreamer’s treasures.

There was a knight in shining armor
Full of chivalrous airs
Sweeping her off her feet
Taking her to an altar
Laden with stars in her eyes
A dream of blissful charms…

And now…
The image changes its shape
Showcasing the myriad hues
Of a dreamer's journey
In the lines of its face.

The dreams have touched
Too many people in its fold
They have become miles stones.
Mile stones of understanding
Growing and maturing a hundred times
Taking life and its blessings in its stride.

Reminding, that yesterdays
And tomorrows dreams connect
A thin thread of hope and faith
 In the realm of present.

  1. Love this part :
There was a knight in shining armor
    Full of chivalrous airs
    Sweeping her of her feet
    Taking her to an altar
Laden with stars in her eyes
    A dream of blissful charms…

  2. a lovely read ... uplifting and realistic at the same time ... I liked the fairy verse in the middle of the poem very much ... there was a typo however .... it should read sweeping her off her feet ... Bastet

  5. I've known some of those dreams. Some I know won't come true for me. I translate those into my writing.
This is a beautiful poem! You've done a fine job.
