Zooming on the screen with a broad smile. She watches at him with bulging eyes. So much to gather from his wisdom. His pearly teeth flashes perfectly. Will he be honest or just beat around the bush. She gets a notebook ,gearing up to absorb all those pearly words he is about to mouth and shout, indifferently. The rest are also ready with their paraphernalia. Some in casuals and some in gowns and nightdresses. 

It is time to gather the pearls on the blank pages. The topic starts rolling on the screen, slide after slide. Some on the screen are in full view with their audios off. A pretty lot of diaspora taking notes of the hot topic under discussion. One by one raises their hands when doubts strike their conscious minds. He gloats about his own journey, how his wife threatened to file the papers if he doesn't lose the extra fat. So motivated are the rest to see the wonder alive. Losing weight is going to be easy with his support. 

Everybody is expecting miracles to happen once he announces the strategy to follow. From large intestine, to small intestine to the friendly bacteria is absorbed with full attention. Ah! Gut health is important. Eat healthy.

Keep those friendly bacteria active so that the structure shrink and the mirror starts speaking the truth. She listen with the audio and video muted. Her focus on the boundary scored on the television screen.So much knowledge to gain from every corner. She controls a huge yawn, maybe the others too. He must have felt the premonition. The lecture window gets shut ten minutes before the scheduled time.

Gut health, oh no! The pasta must be getting cold.

Prompt. Sawako Nakayasu’s poem “Improvisational Score” is a rather surreal prose poem describing an imaginary musical piece that proceeds in a very unmusical way. Today, try your hand at writing your own poem in which something that normally unfolds in a set and well understood way  — like a baseball game or dance recital – goes haywire, but is described as if it is all very normal.
