My little learners, do come across.

With mindboggling doubts.

They ask, "Why is it principle and not 

Principal in maths?"

"Why do bread and bred have different 

meanings and the same sounds?"

 I am dumbfounded

The spellings do confuse the little minds

Too many homophones to deal with

As the syllabus and syllable 

get stuck in between them.

The spell-bee competition

It is too competitive.

The syllabification rules

Cuts through the consonants

Confusing constantly, while

Conversing and connecting.

Poor kids! How discombobulating! 

For the diaspora, 

English language...

Bamboozling to the core.
