Seasonal Chimes

Day-30,OctPoWriMo-2015

muncie

I Love…

When the mind maps

The crumpled pages

Inked with embers of a

Shivering past.

Igniting the senses

With the hues

Of lush greens,

The ocean blues,

The autumn leaves.

The moving sensation

Cuts through

The depth-

Flooding the soul

With memories

Of bygone times.

Leaving behind

An icy heart-to wallow

In the harsh winters,

Time has left-to taste

The warm shores.

  2. Being in the autumn of my own life, I've seen a fair number of autumns. Each year they grow more bittersweet as time passes and more people pass. Your poem expresses the beauty and the melancholy so well.
