Standing
alone on the precipice
Wondering!
Where her life was heading.
Her fate was
smothered
Under the
mundane debris
Making it
difficult to fulfill her dreams.
Courage she
had enough, up her sleeve
She just
needed some inspiration, to believe
And she did...God!
How she did!
With blazing
barbs turned against her
She faced
them with a born resolve
She was a
woman, who has set out
To show the
world, that determination pays of
When the
heart and mind works as her force.
Her success
story is others envy
But she
takes pride in her own destiny.

It is so freeing when we stop trying to prove ourselves to others. (Lovely sari, by the way!)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is Beth! Just to be free from that bondage is a bliss! Thank you for your compliment :)
DeleteThe good opinion of others is often what stops you from achieving your goals.
ReplyDeleteYou said it Cressida. Sometimes those hurdles become unbearable :)
DeleteI'm glad you had the courage to believe. Thanks for sharing your heart in a poem
ReplyDeleteI feel we women are born with that asset called courage :) Thank you very much for your appreciation Connie :)

Thank you very much Viv :)
DeleteWell done! Bastet!
ReplyDeleteYou made my day Bastet :) Humbled.
DeleteWonderful words! One really must live to follow one's own heart. Succumbing to the ambition of others only leaves one dead inside.
