Quietude

Day 19-NaPoWriMo-2019/A to Z Challenge-2019
Form: abecedarian Poem

Cortalim, my village. Pic Credit-Wendell Rodricks

As the sun sets, I reminiscence.

Breathing in the sweet fragrance.

Catching the beautifully blessed view.

Dreams assuage the senses of my beautiful land

Effortlessly bringing the muse, to my door

Far away on a coast lies my sunny abode

Glimpses of green fields, blue skies, and high hills

Happily swaying in my mother’s arms

In my veins, they carry a tapestry of

Jubilant memories, singing in my lonely hours

Keeping the sadness at bay, I make little notes

Lost and found, met and departed many friends

My old diaries have their fond reminders

Notes of childhood fantasies, dreams, and ambitions

Opening old wounds and sometimes happy songs

Producing an aching chasm of lost time

Quietly I shed a few tears

Remembering the beauty of my belongings

Serenading in my solitude under the moonlight

There is no tomorrow as the seasons wriggle underneath

Upon my weakened body, scared with age I suffocate

Voicing my pain is a challenge to fate

Waiting for the day of eternity in the oozing evenings

Xanthippe infested the tiny cells with

Yellowish smudges and dying wishes

Zephyr, can you carry my longings to my loved ones?
