Breathe In

 Day-1 OctPoWriMo-2018
 Prompt : Surrender

Let them flow
Those twisting
Jostling open wounds
There is an oasis to  feel and explore
A running stream of emotions
Dance to the tune of
Deep understanding
!
!
!
Wake up, face it
That sweet pain of
Being alive
There is nothing more to compromise
When the heart feels
The rhythm of
Self love.

  1. I love the three exclamation points! That conveys so much with so little.

    1. Thank you very much, Shuku. I read your poem. It shook me.Such a profound rant. I can understand that pain as I too come from a similar background. A tale of every woman in the sub-continent.

  3. Beautiful, Sunita! Very evocative. I love how you worded both stanzas, especially the first with letting the wounds flow. But those exclamation points in between convey both adrenaline as in a fight and finally letting go and surrendering completely. Well done!

  4. I agree with Jesi - the urgency, the compelling cry -
    That sweet pain of
    Being alive
There is nothing more to compromise
    When the heart feels
    The rhythm of
    Self love.

    Nicely done!
